Tomball tops Pearland, 4-1, to claim Texas 6A state baseball title

Cougars' pitcher Karson Reeder was named the game's MVP. He threw a complete game, allowing four hits and striking out five.

ROUND ROCK, Texas — Congratulations to the Tomball Cougars baseball team, the 2024 6A state baseball champions.

Tomball topped Pearland, 4-1, Saturday in an all-Houston area title game at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.

According to the Texas University Interscholastic League, Tomball’s Karson Reeder was named game MVP. He threw a complete game for the win, allowing four hits and striking out five.

Tomball finished the 2024 season with a 41-3 record and won their second state championship in school history. The other came in 2013.

Tomball got to the championship game by topping San Antonio Johnson, 2-0, Friday.

Pearland reached the title game Friday by knocking off defending state champion Flower Mound, 2-1.

Congratulations to both teams for fantastic seasons.
