Overview

This is the marquee game of the weekend. For the fifth time in six years, North Shore of Galena Park ISD and Duncanville meet for a state title.
Not surprisingly, both programs have spots in the MaxPreps Top 25 national ranking: North Shore is No. 5 after beating Austin Westlake and Duncanville is No. 12 after demolishing North Crowley of Fort Worth.

Each squad is oozing with talent. This final game features the top two juniors in Texas (and among the top six in the nation, according to 247Sports.com) in Moore and Sanchez.
Duncanville also boasts future Longhorn Simmons, who's ranked in the Top 25 nationally. Alex January, another Texas commit, stands 6-4 and weighs 325 pounds.

North Shore beat Duncanville for the 2018, 2019 and 2021 state titles, respectively.  Duncanville, however, is the defending UIL champion, having beaten North Shore last year, 28-21. It was Duncanville's first title since 1998.

North Shore junior quarterback Kaleb Bailey has started since his freshman season and was named MaxPreps first-team Freshman All-American. Bailey helped guide the Mustangs to the '21 title.
