Texas A&M's win over LSU should shake up the Top 25 when the new rankings come out Sunday.

HOUSTON — There were no major college football upsets over the weekend in the AP Top 25, but there was one game that will shake up the rankings a bit and it was the one played in College Station.

The No. 14 Texas A&M Aggies stormed back in the second half of their game against No. 8 LSU to beat the Tigers, 38-23. That should have the Aggies moving up in the poll, while LSU will fall.

Meanwhile, No. 5 Texas escaped Nashville with a close win over No. 25 Vanderbilt. And the No. 1 Oregon Ducks should remain on top with their 38-9 win over Illinois.

However the AP rankings shake out, it's the College Football Playoff rankings that will determine the 12 teams that will compete for a national championship. The first rankings for the CFP come out next month.

What time do the AP college football rankings come out?

The new college AP football rankings typically come out at 1 p.m. Sunday during the season.

When do the College Football Playoff rankings come out?

While the AP poll is the rankings during much of the season, it’s the CFP rankings will determine which teams play for a national championship this season. The first ranking of the CFP comes out on Nov. 5.  The College Football Playoff came into existence in 2014, but until this season, had only included the top four teams. This year, the CFP will expand to 12 teams.  Here’s how it will work.
