HOUSTON — With the days ticking down to the total solar eclipse and the forecast not improving, you may be thinking to yourself, is it worth it to go forward with those eclipse plans?
NOAA experts say absolutely. They say clouds or no clouds, this once-in-a-lifetime celestial event will still be visible one way or another.
“It’s going to look like you’re in a sunset, setting right, so where the sun is about to go down, so I think it’s going to be a noticeable difference on the brightness outside before what you had, maybe, 10 minutes before because you were still getting some of the brightness of the sun," said NOAA program lead Krizia Negron. "So even if it’s cloudy, I think everybody should go outside and see what they can see and hey what if for a glimpse of a few seconds the sky clears and you get to see it.”
Scientists also say you’ll likely notice a brief decrease in temperatures and if you’re around animals may witness some unusual behaviors—like nighttime routines from the confusion of the darkening sky.

Dicen que si hay o no hay nubes, este evento será único en la vida y todavía podrá verlo de una manera u otra.
“A pesar de que si los cielos están bastante cubiertos con las nubes, entiendo que sí podría ver una diferencia en la oscuridad que ocurrirá afuera durante los minutos de totalidad,” dijo Krizia Negron, Líder del Programa de Idiomas. “Porque no tendremos obviamente esa fuente de luz del sol. Así que si se podría observar una disminución, se va a poner oscuro, porque se va a ver como si fuese cuando cae el sol donde ya se está poniendo oscuro. Así que aunque el cielo este cubierto en nubes, les pido a las personas que tengan la oportunidad, que están en la totalidad, que salgan, y puedan experimentarlo.”
Científicos dicen que es muy posible que también notara que las temperaturas bajan momentáneamente y si es que está cerca de animales quizás podrá observar comportamientos extraños. Hábitos que hacen en la noche porque se confunden con la obscuridad.
