HOUSTON — Texas was the first state in the country to get a glimpse of the 2024 solar eclipse on Monday.
While it was cloudy in a lot of places, they broke just enough to get a look at the Great American Eclipse.
In Houston, the eclipse started at 12:20 p.m. and peaked at 1:40 p.m. with around 94% of the sun obstructed. By 3 p.m., it'll be completely over.
Some parts of the Hill Country and NE Texas got a break from the cloud coverage to see the eclipse, KHOU 11 meteorologist Pat Cavlin said.
Here are some photos and videos from across the state that were sent to us by our viewers.
