PORTLAND - The self-proclaimed white supremacist Holly Grigsby has pleaded guilty to a crime spree that left four people dead in three states, including an Oregon teen.
Holly Grigsby and Joey Pedersen were accused of murdering Cody Myers, of Lafayette, Ore., along with Pedersen s father and stepmother in Washington, and a man named Reginald Clark in Calif. before they were captured in 2011.
Grigsby, 28, agreed to a plea deal Tuesday in federal court. She was sentenced to life without parole. As part of the plea deal, prosecutors will no longer pursue state murder charges against her inOregon, Washington or California.
Myers was described as a kind young man who was devoted to his family and church. He was on his way to the Newport Jazz Festival when the couple stole his car and killed him.
Prosecutors said the 2011 killing spree was part of a supremacist campaign to purify and preserve the white race. According to court documents, the duo told investigators they decided to shoot Myers because his last name made them think he was Jewish.
Pedersen and Grigsby also said that at the time of their arrest, they were on their way to Sacramento to kill more Jews.
Pedersen, 32, faces federal trial in July, for allegedly killing Myers and Clark. He was already sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of aggravated murder for killing his father, Red Pedersen, and stepmother, Leslie Pedersen in Everett, Wash.
Grigsby used to live in Portland with her then-husband Dannel Larson and their 2-year-old son. Larson said she had a wild side and got involved with Pedersen after their marriage began to fall apart.
