Multiple media reports say a public relations stunt went wrong when the mayor of a town in India ended up in a trash-filled creek – and it was all caught on camera.
Panaji Mayor Surendra Furtado was riding on the boat with journalists and supporters when it overturned, dumping everyone into the water. Officials blamed the water’s turbulence for the incident.
Newscrunch.in reports the mayor was showing off the city’s new boat because it is equipped to remove weeds from the creek.
Dnaindia.com reports a formal complaint has been filed against the mayor for the incident.
