A popular post on Facebook claims Joanna Gaines, the star of HGTV’s “Fixer Upper,” is leaving the show to start her own skincare line. Fans of the show were shocked by the announcement. But is it true?
The article looks legitimate. It appears to be from Cosmopolitan and says Gaines is promoting a product called “Derma Folia” anti-aging serum where you can buy a sample for $4.
Our Verify team reached out to the producers of “Fixer Upper” and we were directed to a blog post from Gaines. She addressed the report directly, writing
“Yes, we are currently filming Season 5 of the show…No, I am not getting into the business of facial creams…And no worries, believing some of these stories happens to the best of us. In summary, don’t buy the facial cream, friends.
We can verify Gaines is not getting into the beauty business, therefore, this report is false.
