HOUSTON — Online is a popular way for first-time voters to register to vote in the Nov. 5, 2024, election. Across the U.S., Texas is the largest state in the country that does not offer online registration.

According to the Texas Secretary of State's Office, registered voters are allowed to update their information online. If you have moved, you are allowed to update your voter information online, until the Oct. 7 voter registration deadline. Updating your address will also remove voters listed on the "suspense list."

In Texas, voters must attest to being a U.S. citizen on the application. If a person does not meet the qualifications for being a U.S. citizen, the person is not allowed to register to vote and can face possible state charges.
