USAA is helping lead research into Smart Home devices, including water leak detection

Don’t let a small water leak in your home turn into a huge problem…prevent headaches with water leak detection devices

HOUSTON — Nearly 30 million homes in America are equipped with smart home technology, such as ring doorbell cameras and smart home assistants.  USAA researches, tests and monitors many smart home devices in their labs, making life simpler and easier for their members and helping them save money and protect their home, which is their most valuable commodity.

One of these innovations has come in the form of water leak detection, found in self-install devices like the Honeywell Lyric, and whole home sensors like the professionally-installed Buoy.  Both monitor potential issues with water leaks in your home, and then alert you via an app on your phone.  USAA even offers discounts with the usage of some smart home devices.
