Two Cypress Lake HS students killed in car accident

HARRIS COUNTY - Two Cypress-Fairbanks high school students were killed and two other teens were injured after being involved in a car accident Friday evening.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of N Eldridge Parkway and Trader’s Village Drive at 5 p.m. Friday.

Deputies said five people were in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Troy Carrol, 17, and Reon Woodman, 17, were killed in the crash.

Reon Woodman, 17, was killed in the crash.

Carrol was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cy-Fair district fire chief. We're told Woodman was taken to Cypress-Fairbanks Medical Center and was pronounced dead just before 6 p.m.

Investigators said a man named Anthony Do was driving a 2007 Nissan Sentra when he failed to yield the right of way when turning left from N. Eldridge Parkway on to a Trader’s Village Drive and hit a 2015 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Christian Martinez.

The two deceased teenagers were seated in the back seat of the Sentra and were not wearing seatbelts, deputies said.

A 16-year-old seated in the passenger seat of the Sentra was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Another male, Daniel Lorano-Garza was also in the back seat of the Sentra and was not wearing a seatbelt. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, deputies said.

The drivers of the two vehicles, Do and Martinez, refused EMS treatment on the scene and showed no signs of impairment, deputies said.
