HOUSTON – Firefighters were called to I-45 North early Thursday after a fire and hazmat spill involving a big rig.
It happened around 1:30 a.m. near the exit for Spring Stuebner. As of 5 a.m. three northbound lanes remained blocked.
The truck's driver said he saw sparks and pulled over when the flames broke out at the rear of his trailer. A hazmat crew was called to the scene.
The freeway fully reopened just before 6 a.m.
There were no injuries.
