DALLAS -- A Texas online fashion magazine editor has lost an eye after she was maimed from walking into the spinning propeller of a small airplane after a flight to view Christmas lights earlier this month.
In a statement, the mother of 23-year-old Lauren Scruggs of Plano said her daughter s left eye was removed Wednesday.
Cheryl Scruggs said, We have been praying for a miracle. The miracle that Jesus gave us is a prosthesis.
Lauren Scruggs also lost her left hand in the Dec. 3 accident.
Cheryl Scuggs says her daughter is recovering remarkably well, given the circumstances, but added she s also in excruciating pain.
