DALLAS - An all-nude strip club that claims to be Texas' largest opened as scheduled Thursday afternoon after owners scrambled to pass a series of city inspections.
On Wednesday, city officials put a brief halt to the plan, telling owners of the XTC Cabaret at 8550 N. Stemmons that they could not open because the club did not have a valid certificate of occupancy.
The club failed health, plumbing and electrical inspections on January 7, according to city records.
Thursday, the club was re-inspected and passed on all counts, city spokesman Frank Librio said.
XTC officials sent out a notice at 2:15 p.m. saying the club would open as planned.
City officials confirmed it could open about an hour later.
XTC officials appeared to be caught off-guard Wednesday at news they could not open.
City inspectors were sent to the building that has been home to a series of strip clubs to tell operators not to open until they were cleared by City Hall.
