HOUSTON A suspect has been charged with capital murder in the May 16 shooting death of a 20-year-old Texaco clerk.
Albert Lynch, 24, has been in jail since May 27 on an unrelated charge.
Harris County investigators say Lunch entered the Texaco, located in the 15300 block of Ella Boulevard, around 3:50 a.m. on May 16, dressed in a ski mask, dark blue coveralls and gloves.
Surveillance cameras captured the armed suspect confronting the clerk, Salvador Maya.
The suspect shot Maya, hopped behind the register, grabbed some cash and fled on foot.
Investigators released the surveillance video last month in a bid to identify the suspect.
Since then, investigators said they uncovered additional evidence, which led them to Lynch.
