A bomb squad has removed a suspicious device off of a vehicle located on the Texas Tech campus, allowing students, staff and visitors to return to the area, according to a tweet from the TTU twitter account.
Just before 3 p.m., Texas Tech officials said the suspicious device was found east of Talkington Hall and police asked all people to avoid the area.
At 4:37 p.m., University police said they removed the device and placed it in a "containment pod" but were continuing to search the area.
Twenty minutes later, officials said the area was approved for re-entry and an "all-clear" was given.
