One family is especially thankful for their turkey this year. But this turkey won't be served on the dinner table. It will be hanging out with his best friend, a dog named Minnow.
Blossom is a rescue turkey that lives in Virginia with her foster mom, Abbie Hubbard.

According to NBC's Today Show, Hubbard is the deputy director of the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria and decided to rescue Blossom from a slaughterhouse when she was just five weeks old.
"My heart beats for farmed animals," Hubbard told Today.
Hubbard is familiar with rescuing animals. She previously saved Minnow from the dog meat trade. The animals are both thankful this Thanksgiving for their loving home, as well as one another. The two have formed an unexpectedly strong bond.
Hubbard told Today that since Blossom arrived, her and Minnow have been inseparable. They even like to go on hikes together.

"Minnow and Blossom remind me every day that there is no greater gift in life than love," Hubbard told Today. "That's Thanksgiving to me."
This Thanksgiving will be especially bittersweet as Blossom will be heading to a nearby farm sanctuary for rescued animals.
