HOUSTON - There was an unusual rescue on the Westpark Tollway over the weekend and it was all caught on camera.
Michael and Misty Sorrels were driving near the Dairy Ashford exit on Sunday when they noticed seven ducklings trapped between a concrete barrier and rushing cars.
"They were brown, fuzzy, probably five inches tall," explained Misty. "I thought they were going to get run over. They looked so scared."
The couple looped around then Michael got out of the car to escort them to safety. That's when Misty took out her phone and recorded the rescue.
"My sweet husband is walking," you can hear her say on the recording.
"It's kind of like herding cattle," said Michael, "you just try to stay ahead of them."
The Sorrels had no idea how the ducklings got there to begin with as they couldn't fly and that section of the Tollway is about 10 feet above the ground.
As Michael guarded the ducklings for a quarter of a mile, the duckling's duck parents looked on. Michael said he was more worried about the adult ducks than passing vehicles.
"Just making sure that mama and daddy duck didn't come and hit me in the back of the head," Michael joked. "They watched the whole time!"
Eventually, the ducklings made it off the Westpark Tollway and waddled through a nearby fence; hopefully headed for nearby water where they belong.
