HOUSTON - More than 3,000 trail riders on horseback and in wagons took part in the Houston Rodeo Parade on Saturday in downtown Houston.

In addition to the trail riders, the parade featured floats and marching bands who entertained crowds lined along the streets.

This was the 78th year for the Rodeo Parade.

The parade marks the end of the ride for the trail riders who come in from every corner of the state and beyond.

"All for the kids, kids and fans, it's wonderful. Can't beat it," said Ira Hill, Jr. of the Southwestern Trail Riders.

The parade kicked off the start of Rodeo Houston and it continues a great Houston tradition.

"We have one very wonderful culture here. We do a lot here and this is Texas," said Melvin Robinson as he watched the parade.
