San Antonio woman gets life over husband slaying

A San Antonio woman convicted for her role in the 2000 killing of her estranged Air Force husband must serve life in prison.

SAN ANTONIO -- A San Antonio woman convicted for her role in the 2000 killing of her estranged Air Force husband must serve life in prison.

A federal judge in San Antonio on Wednesday sentenced Theresa Ann Tolliver in what prosecutors say was a nearly $600,000 insurance and survivor s benefits scam. She must repay the money.

Jurors in October convicted Tolliver of conspiracy to cause interstate transportation to commit murder for hire.

Tech. Sgt. Derrick Tolliver was fatally shot. He and his wife were divorcing and in a custody fight over their two sons.

Jeremy Farr was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to 40 years in prison. Farr was a friend of Emanuel Fonzie, who was living with Tolliver when her husband was slain.

Farr testified against Fonzie, who was convicted of capital murder and received a life term.
