SPRING, Texas The Rev. James Dixon, head of Houston s Community of Faith Church, is facing charges after deputies say he got into a physical fight with his wife.
According to court documents, a Harris County deputy was called to the Dixons home on Bridgevalley Court in Spring by Rev. Dixon s wife, Tanisha Dixon, on January 25.
Tanisha Dixon told the deputy she was injured while fighting with her husband, from whom she said she is separated.
She said Rev. Dixon, 47, was dropping their kids off at the home when he came in uninvited.
After about 20 minutes, Tanisha Dixon said she told Rev. Dixon to leave, and he started yelling at her.
At that point, Tanisha Dixon said her son started crying. She told the deputy she reached out to the boy, but Rev. Dixon pushed her away.
Tanisha Dixon said her husband then tried to take the boy, and when she intervened, Rev. Dixon picked her up and threw her back into the house.
She told the deputy she ran out of the home and tried to get her son a second time, but Rev. Dixon picked her up and threw her to the ground again.
Court records state the deputy also spoke with a neighbor, who said he saw the Reverend throw his wife.
Rev. Dixon was arrested and charged with assault of a family member. He was released on $50,000 bond.
