Several times a day Jackson Seaton and his mom visit a Folsom farm where they hold their two pet goats named Jasper and Zephyr.

"He loves it here," said Alicia Seaton, Jackson's mom. "Anytime that's not screen time and not sitting in a house and out in the fresh air is just a great thing."

Jackson takes care of the goats who he calls his best friends.

He gets them hay and water but most importantly he's talking more being around the goats.

Alicia got the goats six months ago after hearing success stories involving other autistic children.

ABC10 went to the farm in Meadow Vista where they bought Jasper and Zephyr to meet with the owner and also the other goats "in training."

While most of the goats are for show, Kathy Griffiths who owns Griffiths Pygmies in Meadow Vista says she's helped several families with autistic children.

The farm owner goes through an interview process before placing the goat with the family. Sometimes a younger children might get a baby goat so they can grow up together.

Griffiths herself has two daughters who have learning disabilities.

"Being able to give back to these kids where others might not take the time to do so just means the world to me," Griffiths said.
