In most Houston-area counties you can vote at any polling place but not all of them

Montgomery County and Waller County still require voters to go to their precincts. Find the location on their election website or your voter registration card.

HOUSTON — We've heard from some voters today who said they were turned away from their polling location and told they have to vote in their precinct. 

We checked and Harris County and most other Greater Houston-area counties now allow voters to cast ballots at any polling location. 

The following counties allow voters to vote at any polling location

Harris County

Fort Bend County

Brazoria County 

Galveston County

Liberty County 

Chambers County 

Walker County

The following area counties require voters to vote at their precinct

Montgomery County 

Waller County

KHOU 11 is teaming up with Univision 45 and NALEO Education Fund from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. tonight for an Election Protection Hotline. Voters can get one-on-one assistance with voting questions or issues. Call 888-839-8682.
