HOUSTON Incumbent Brett W. Ligon won the primary race for Montgomery County District AttorneyTuesday.
He led by a wide margin from the very first precincts reporting, and ultimately won the race with 65percentof the votes. He defeated Tracy Pullan and Gilbert G. Garcia.
He attributed the wide margin to a county-wide endorsement of the work he and his staff have done so far.
That gets to spread the message for the work that the people in the office do, said Ligon
Ligon was first sworn in as the Montgomery County District Attorney on January 1, 2009.
There is no Democratic candidate in this primary, so the Republican winner is effectively the next Montgomery County D.A.
