HOUSTON -- Houston police said they have identified a person of interest in the slaying of a Texas Southern University student.
Freshman Joshua McMackle, 18, died early Saturday morning after he was shot in the back while attending a party in the 3700 block of Wheeler, police said. Witnesses reported a fight escalated and at least 10 gunshots were fired.
Investigators said Khiry McCullum was at the off-campus party where McMackle was shot, and right now they just want to talk to him.
Another student was shot in the ankle, but was not seriously hurt.
There have been no arrests.
