Close calls in the Houston area

Flying objects on the road is something we’ve reported on in the Houston area.

Last October, we shared the story of Amanda Kilian, who survived after a 9-inch pipe came flying through her windshield while she was driving along Beltway 8.  KHOU 11’s Marcelino Benito spoke with her after the terrifying ordeal.

And just a couple months before that, Megan Lahoun's front windshield was slammed by a piece of metal that was kicked up from the roadway along the Eastex Freeway in Montgomery County. In that instance, as KHOU 11’s Matt Dougherty reported, dashcam video showed the close call.
