Travis Kelce donates $100K to 2 children injured in Chiefs parade shooting

Eighty-Seven & Running, an organization founded by Travis Kelce, made two $50,000 donations to a GoFundMe page on Friday.

WASHINGTON — Travis Kelce donated $100,000 to a family of two young girls who were injured during a shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl parade.

A GoFundMe page set up for the Reyes family received two $50,000 donations from Kelce's Eighty-Seven & Running organization Friday. A representative for the Chiefs' tight end confirmed to TODAY.com that the donation came from Kelce's organization.

The 8-year-old and 10-year-old girls from the Reyes family were among the 22 injured in the Feb. 14 shooting. Half of those injured on Wednesday were under the age of 16.

Both girls were shot in their legs and received surgery after the shooting, according to NBC News.

The GoFundMe page had a goal of $100,000 to aid in the recovery of the Reyes' two young daughters. As of Saturday, the page has raised over $180,000.

The two girls, who were not named on the GoFundMe page, also received a visit from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, according to TODAY.com.

Kelce's organization aims to "empower disadvantaged youth to achieve success by providing resources and support to their communities and cultivating their talent in the areas of education, business, athletics, stem, and the arts," according to the official website. It was founded in 2015.

Earlier on Friday, Taylor Swift donated $100,000 to the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, the woman killed in the shooting.

Lopez-Galvan, 43, was shot Wednesday as she celebrated the Chiefs' Super Bowl win with her husband, young adult son and hundreds of thousands of other fans at the city's Union Station.

Two $50,000 donations were posted Friday under the singer's name on a GoFundMe page for Lopez-Galvan.

"Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift," read the messages accompanying the posts.

Swift, who is dating Kelce and attended Sunday's Super Bowl, was not at Wednesday's parade.

Two juveniles were charged with crimes connected to the mass shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl rally, authorities said on Friday.
