WASHINGTON — When hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg shared last week that he was "giving up smoke," many were skeptical that the longtime marijuana enthusiast had something else in the works. Turns out, they were right.

Snoop Dogg dropped the second part of his announcement on Monday, which revealed that this was all just part of a campaign to promote Solo Stove and smokeless fire pits.

"I have an announcement, I'm giving up smoke. I know what you're thinking. Snoop smoke is kind of your whole thing. But I'm done with it. Done with the coughing and my clothes smelling all sticky icky. I'm going smokeless. Solo Stove fixed fire. They took out the smoke. Clever," Snoop Dogg said in the video while sitting next to a fire pit.

As part of the collaboration, he'll be the official "smokesman" for the brand. The Grapevine, Texas-based company said it is also selling a limited edition bundle for $350 that includes a fire pit designed by Snoop Dogg, a stand, a bucket hat, and a sticker pack.

The rapper and entrepreneur, who has become known for his own weed-related ventures over the years, got nearly 5 million likes on his initial Instagram post announcing he was "giving up smoke." And many commenters at the time, including Queen Latifah and Maya Rudolph had chimed in to show their support. Rapper Meek Mill even said the announcement inspired him to quit smoking.

But right away others were skeptical about the 52-year-old's vaguely worded post. Especially because just last week, BIC EZ Reach Lighters announced a limited edition, bag-lighter combo from Snoop and Martha Stewart called "Best Buds Bags."
