Warriors' Andrew Bogut suffers left knee sprain in Game 5 of Finals

Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut suffered a left knee sprain early in the second half of Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night.

He never returned to the game. An MRI — which will determine the severity of the sprain — is scheduled for late Monday night.

The injury occurred as Bogut went up to block Cavs guard J.R. Smith's layup attempt. He landed on Smith awkwardly and immediately fell to the floor grabbing his left knee.

He was helped off the floor and went to the Warriors locker room for further evaluation. He had 0 points, 3 rebounds and 3 blocks in 8 minutes of play before exiting.

The Cavaliers went on to win the game 112-97, forcing a Game 6 in Cleveland on Thursday night.
