HOUSTON The woman who was found dead in Lake Houston Tuesday died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest, the medical examiner said Friday.
Some residents of the Lake Shore Villas apartments on Lake Houston spotted the woman s body in the water.
Police said it happened at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at 19800 Atascocita Shores.When authorities got there they found it was a white female in her 50s who had been shot in the torso, according to HPD Officer J. Horn.
Many residents expressed concern Wednesday after the discovery.
It s frightening. We ve never had anything like that happen around here, ever, said longtime Lake Houston resident Connie Perwien.
