HOUSTON – Houston TranStar reports that the I-10 Katy Freeway eastbound will be totally shut down the weekend of Jan. 23.
All eastbound mainlanes will blocked near downtown starting at 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 through 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25.
Drivers will be detoured to I-45 North northbound to the 610 Loop where they can connect with U.S. 59 or I-10 on the other side of downtown.
In addition, various I-10 eastbound entrance and exit ramps in the Heights area will be closed to traffic.
Eastbound drivers are advised to avoid the mess by taking the 610 W. Loop northbound to get around downtown rather than getting stuck in the jam that will likely form near downtown.
