LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- State Rep. elect, Attica Scott is raising questions about the hair policy at Butler Traditional High School in Louisville.

Scott posted the schools’ policy about hair on Twitter Wednesday night and it quickly touched a nerve with many people online nationally and even drew questions from the director of the Louisville Urban league.

The policy posted says that students can't have their hair in cornrows, braids, twists and dread locks.
Many online saying it limits kid’s individuality

JCPS has now responded tonight saying this is not a district policy but one decided by the site based decision making council at Butler.

Scott said online she will be contacting the district administrators on Thursday.
