HOUSTON -- A woman was killed in an apparent hit-and-run along the South Freeway late Thursday, police said.
According to the Houston Police Department, 911 calls started coming in around 9:30 p.m. from drivers concerned about a woman walking along the 288 near Dixie.
When officers arrived they found the woman's body.
Police said a driver hit her and then drove away, and there were no apparent witnesses to the incident.
The 45-year-old woman's name has not been released.
