HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A 25-year-old woman died Saturday after her car crashed in a concrete wall in northeast Houston.
A total of two adults and five children, ranging from one to 11 years old, were in the car. None of them were wearing seatbelts or restrained in car seats.
Deputy Deshana Cheek-McNeal with the Harris County Sheriff's Office said the woman veered off the side of the road in the 14700 block of Woodforest Blvd. and struck the Carpenter's Bayou Bridge.
She was taken to the hospital by Life Flight where she was pronounced dead.
All the other passengers were taken to Memorial Hermann in the Texas Medical Center for non life-threatening injuries.
"With these accidents, we can't stress enough the importance of wearing seatbelts and making sure your children are restrained," she said.
This is an on-going investigation.
