HISD adminstrator faces sexual assault charge after incident involving former student, court records show

The suspect is an acting assistant principal at Westbury High School, according to court documents.

HOUSTON — A man identified in court documents as an acting assistant principal at a Houston ISD high school is charged with sexual assault

Those documents identify Bryan Tigner. 36. as the acting assistant principal at Westbury High School. It’s where Tigner and the victim allegedly met. It's also where police confronted Tigner.

Court documents say Tigner sexually assaulted a male, a 20-year-old former student at Westbury, back on September 27. Tigner appeared in probable cause court this weekend on one count of sexual assault.

According to an arrest warrant, Tgner invited the victim over to his apartment to drink alcohol and smoke marijuana. The victim fell asleep on Tigner’s couch and woke up around 4 a.m. when he said the act occurred without his consent.

According to the arrest warrant, the victim hit Tigner and asked him to stop.

Officers did go to Westbury High School to interview Tigner. During that interview, charging documents say Tigner believed the victim wanted intimacy.

Houston ISD administrators said they can’t comment on the status of any specific personnel issue or investigation, but the district is aware of the incident and cooperating with law enforcement.

The district said it’s standard practice for any employee accused of a crime to be removed from campus.

The bond for Tigner was set at $75,000.
