HOUSTON -- The North Freeway inbound will be shut down at the Katy Freeway from 9 p.m. Friday, Jan 10 to 5 a.m. Monday, Jan 13.
The Texas Department of Transportation says the shutdown is required as crews make repairs to the Hogan Street Bridge over the next two weekends. Crews will replace multiple bridge beams.
During the closure, motorists traveling southbound on I-45 North will be detoured to I-10 the Katy Freeway westbound and then take the Taylor Street exit, take a left on Taylor, and then a left on the I-10 Katy eastbound frontage road to get onto the mainlanes of I-10 Katy eastbound to re-enter I-45 North Freeway southbound.
Police officers will be stationed at the Taylor intersection directing traffic but motorists should expect delays and may want to consider an alternate route.
The Hogan Street Bridge will also be closed.
