HOUSTON — Houstonians showed up in the hundreds to maintain a Thanksgiving tradition.
The line a Flying Saucer Pie Company was hundreds deep. Flying Saucer at 436 W. Crosstimbers Street in Houston has been baking pies for 57 years. They said they make 15,000 pies for Thanksgiving week.
The sign outside of Flying Saucer reads, "Stand in line, make new friends." Customers did just that all day Tuesday and Wednesday. The pie shop closed at 5 p.m. and will remain closed through the holiday.
House of Pies is another favorite. The pie shop at 6142 Westheimer Road near the Galleria is open 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. every day, including Thanksgiving. They also have River Oaks and South Houston locations.
