HOUSTON — More people are making one-way reservations to Texas than any other state for the third straight year. That’s according to U-Haul, which posted the information on Wednesday.
After Texas, U-Haul reports Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee rank in order from two to five.
According to U-Haul, they get the rankings by looking at more than 2.5 million truck, trailer and U-box moving container transactions across the U.S. and Canada and looking for net gain or loss.
“While one-way transactions in 2023 remained below the record-breaking levels we witnessed immediately following the pandemic, we continued to see many of the same geographical trends from U-Haul customers moving between states,” said John Taylor with U-Haul in a news release.
Taylor noted that most of the migration continues to be a trend they’re seeing.
On the other side of the spectrum, California leads the nation in one-way reservations out of state, according to U-Haul. It’s their fourth straight time to top that list.
