Two suspects arrested in Dallas murder case

Brandon Fulwood, 23, of Balch Springs and 33-year-old Corey Perry of Dallas are being held at the Dallas County Jail on $500,000 bond each. They are accused of killing one man and wounding another in an attempted holdup Friday night.

DALLAS -- Dallas police have arrested two suspects in connection with a fatal shooting in Southeast Dallas on Friday night.

Brandon Fulwood, 23, of Balch Springs and 33-year-old Corey Perry of Dallas are being held on capital murder charges at the Dallas County Jail. Bond was set at $500,000 each.

According to a a police affidavit, two other men -- Oscar Guevara, 38, and Edgar Espinoza, 19 -- were in Guevara's 2004 Nissan Armada SUV in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 470 South St. Augustine Road late Friday when they were surrounded by at least six men attempting to rob them.

The official report said Guevara drove away from the scene after both he and Espinoza had been shot. Their car crashed into the side of Dorsey Elementary School several blocks away.

Guevara died from a gunshot wound to the chest; Espinoza remains hospitalized with injuries to his arm.

Several witnesses provided information to detectives linking Fulwood and Perry to the crime.
