TEXAS, USA — Want to check out some of Texas' natural beauty? The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is offering free entry on November 3 for Texas State Parks Day!
TPWD said the now-yearly tradition started in 2023 for its centennial celebration.
"Any day in a Texas State Park is a good day," said Texas State Parks Director Rodney Franklin. "I hope this continued event from our centennial celebration motivates all Texans to explore what the outdoors has to offer."
There are more than 80 parks throughout the state where parkgoers can walk, hike, swim, bike, camp and so much more. TPWD keeps a list of events going on at all its parks on its website.
The department does recommend parkgoers make reservations online before heading to the parks.
"Parks will operate as they normally do and will control admissions by their established capacity limits," TPWD said in a news release.
They also wanted to issue a reminder ahead of Veterans Day, November 11, that Parkland Passports are available for free to veterans. These passports grant free entry to all Texas State Parks.
