THE COLONY, Texas — The search is on for a suspect who shot and killed a mother of two while she worked at a convenience store in The Colony Wednesday.

The Siwakoti family lives in Denton, and that is where News 8 found Nabaraj Siwakoti Wednesday afternoon. It had only been a few hours since he'd lost the woman he'd made his wife.

He was in the midst of deep grief, but wanted to speak with News 8 about his wife, 31-year-old Simira Siwakoti — a woman who loved him so much, she would cover his shift at the Rapido convenience store they owned when he wasn't feeling well.

"She went last night to work and I was a little bit sick, and she went this morning too," he said.

Now, the woman who gave him two daughters — ages two and nine months — are asking for their mother.

"What can I tell them? I don't have the mom to them," said Siwakoti.

Before 11 a.m. Wednesday, it was Simira working the counter. Security cameras at the shop next door caught a man calmly strolling up through the parking lot and into their store. Police released footage from inside Siwakoti's store that shows the suspect clearly. Seconds later, police say he shot her once in the face before grabbing money and running out.

It all took just over a minute.

Police in The Colony are searching for that man, and say it's possible he had an accomplice. Someone who dropped him off before the shooting, and picked him up nearby after the crime.

At the Siwakoti home, Nabaraj is trying to focus his thoughts on his girls. But he also wonders if the suspect has any understanding of the deep pain he has caused.

"My wife is not here in the world," he said. "Know how much it's going to hurt when you lose your beloved one."

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call The Colony police at 972-625-1887. There is a $10,000 reward.
