HOUSTON — It's time to redo your Houston Texans mock drafts.
A day after the Texans celebrated their free agent additions this offseason, the team made a huge trade involving draft picks.
According to the NFL, the Texans have agreed to send this year’s first-round pick, the 23rd overall selection, to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for their second-round picks in this year's and next year’s draft.
The Texans get:
- Pick No. 42
- Pick No. 188
2025 2nd-round pick
The Vikings get:
- Pick No. 23
- Pick No. 232
The Texans now have two second-round picks in this year's NFL Draft. The 23rd overall selection was originally acquired as part of the Deshaun Watson trade with the Cleveland Browns.

The Texans had already given up their original first-round pick in this year's NFL Draft as part of the trade to move up and draft Will Anderson Jr. in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The move also gives the Vikings two first-round selections, including the 11th overall.
The Texans still have eight selections in the upcoming draft. The draft will be held from Thursday, April 25 to Saturday, April 27.
