SAN ANTONIO -- A U.S. Army specialist assigned to Fort Sam Houston remains in federal custody Thursday in connection with the sexual exploitation of minors, according to U.S. Attorney Richard L. Durbin Jr., and FBI Special Agent in Charge Christopher Combs of the San Antonio Division.
A federal complaint filed Thursday morning, charged 26–year-old Anthony Quinton Quesinberry with one count of distribution of child pornography.
According to the criminal complaint, during a one-week period beginning on Feb. 18, the defendant transmitted 10 posts to random users of the social networking application named YikYak which contained "images of child pornography and/or verbiage soliciting minors for sexual contact."
Wednesday, FBI agents said they executed a search warrant and seized the defendant’s cell phone and desktop computer.
A preliminary forensic examination of the phone and computer reportedly revealed the presence of child pornography.
Upon conviction, the U.S. Attorney's Ofice said Quesinberry faces up to 20 years in federal prison.
A detention hearing for the defendant is expected to occur next week in U.S. Magistrate court in San Antonio.
This investigation continues. It is being conducted by the FBI with the U.S. Army Criminal Investigative Command at both Fort Sam Houston and Fort Riley, Kansas.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah Wannarka is reportedly prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
