Belton Fire Department issues CODE RED for residents along Nolan Creek

BELTON - Belton Fire Department has issued a code red alert for residents along Nolan Creek due to flooding concerns. Evacuation is not mandatory but is strongly advised.

According to Belton EOC Coordinator Michael Harmon, they have performed 28 high water rescues so far this morning. More than 20 roads are closed due to flooding in Belton as of 8 am on Tuesday.

Harmon says one home in Morgans Point was flooded and the residents rescued.

Several hotels in Killeen along Veterans Memorial Drive are also flooded after at least 5 inches of rain fell overnight.
