A Cedar Park man is facing a felony charge after police say he pulled a 73-year-old man out of his vehicle and repeatedly punched him in the head.

An arrest affidavit for Edward David Goedeking, 60, states police were called to the 1700 block of Halter Lane in Cedar Park around 4:35 p.m. April 17 for a disturbance. The victim told police Goedeking was yelling at him while he was in his car and drove up to him. According to the affidavit the two argued about the victim allegedly honking at a garbage truck, which escalated into Goedeking punching the victim in the face through the open window.

The victim told police he tried opening his door to get Goedeking to back away, and the affidavit states Goedeking pulled the victim out of the car, threw him to the ground, sat on top of him and continued hitting him. A neighbor of the suspect was arriving home at the time, and told police she witnessed Goedeking assault the victim.

Goedeking was arrested on a third-degree felony charge of injury to an elderly individual and booked into the Williamson County Jail. Online records state he was released after posting $20,000 bond.
