DALLAS -- A lot of changes are coming to Dallas Love Field Airport soon.

Baggage claim and passenger pick-up will become easier, and it's all leading up to the end of the Wright Amendment.

A new baggage claim hall is designed to cut down on the waiting game after you get off your flight. It has four carousels and extended conveyor belts to allow multiple flights to unload baggage at the same time.

Once you grab your bags, you should be able to get out of the airport faster thanks to a new pick-up roadway.

All of the new changes are in preparation for Oct. 13 -- the day the Wright Amendment expires. For the first time in three decades, you'll be able to fly non-stop from Love Field to dozens of new destinations.

With the added options, airlines are promising lower prices. Travelers News 8 talked with are on board with the new changes.

"I love the new changes. This has made it a lot easier -- this wasn't my favorite airport, but I'm really starting to enjoy it now," Philipa Booyens said.

"I fly weekly, it's a nice improvement. Almost looks like a mall when you walk through," said David McPartlin.

On Oct. 1, Terminal 1 will shut down as United Airlines moves into the new terminal. Southwest will open two more gates and new food and retail concessions will open.

Virgin America will start taking flight at Love Field after Oct. 13, bringing the total number of new gates in the new terminal to 20.
