SAN ANTONIO Eight people are accused of defrauding Zachry Industrial of nearly $11 million in a bogus invoice and kickback scheme.
A federal indictment returned Wednesday in San Antonio names five former employees of Zachry Industrial, which is a unit of Zachry Holdings Inc.
Spokesman Jeff Coyle says the San Antonio-based company uncovered a pattern of filing false invoices. Coyle says results of the internal investigation were turned over to federal prosecutors.
The indictment includes charges of mailf fraud, mail fraud conspiracy and conspiarcy to launder money, in alleged violations going back to 2003.
