HOUSTON -- A SWAT standoff in north Houston ended when an armed man who was allegedly threatening a baby was apprehended and taken into custody.
SWAT was called out to a home in the 850 block of Ringold Street Sunday afternoon where an armed man was inside with a baby. Officials say the man was threatening his common-law wife, and when she tried to make a police report, he pointed a gun at the baby on the front porch.
SWAT saw this incident occur once officers arrived on scene, and the suspect -- who has a criminal history -- was taken into custody. Neighbors say a nearby church was evacuated.
There are no reported injuries.
