Police have arrested a suspect charged with the murder of a father of three who was gunned down at a southwest Houston tattoo shop.
Police say Khan Abdul-Rahman was asked to leave Electric Chair Tattoo on Richmond near Fondren around midnight. They say that’s when he pulled out a gun and shot 33-year-old Peter Pina.
Pina, a piercing technician at the shop, worked three jobs to support his sons. On his Facebook page, Pina described himself as “an awesome father tryin to make ends meet for my PiñaBoys.”
“It’s just so unbelievable. It’s like I’m in a bad dream and I’m not waking up from it,” said Sylvia Rocha, Pina’s mother. “Just a tragic senseless death that leaves three boys without their dad, and they don’t understand why it happened.”
She and Pina’s siblings are devastated over the loss of a man they describe as giving, kind and dedicated.
“Whatever needed to be done for his friends and family, he was always there,” said Aurora Martinez, the victim’s sister.
Now, the family Pina worked so hard to support will have to lean on each other to live on without him.
“Just knowing that we as a family stick together, it’s how it’s always been, and that’s the only reason I can go on, because otherwise I don’t think I would,” Rochia said. “It’s just unbearable.”
Just last month, the family lost their home in Rosenberg to flooding. If you’d like to help with funeral expenses, they’ve set up a gofundme.com page.
Also, Diablo Loco bar on Richmond, where Piña used to work as a security guard, will be holding a car wash fundraiser on Saturday.
