Spring Branch ISD warns parents about car that reportedly followed students from playground

The driver of an older model white Corvette allegedly asked the kids to get in his car, but they quickly ran away, district police said.

HOUSTON — Spring Branch ISD warned parents about a car that reportedly followed several students while they were walking home from a playground earlier this week.

District police released pictures of the car, describing it as an older model white Corvette.

The driver allegedly approached several elementary students who had been playing at their campus playground near Myrtlea Drive and N Wilcrest Drive on Tuesday. The driver allegedly asked the kids to get in his car. The kids quickly ran away, but the car followed them, Spring Branch ISD police said.

Fortunately, the students were able to get home safely and unharmed.

An alert was sent out to parents and staff about the incident, as well as a description of the car, and a Spring Branch ISD bus driver told district police that they remembered a similar vehicle making a U-turn in front of their bus Tuesday afternoon near Wilchester Elementary School.

District police said it was the same car that followed the students from the playground.
